Grants and Donations Expand Program Reach; Yachting Club and Garden
The generous support of grant makers and donors provides for the expansion of services and supports in a way that can best meet the evolving needs and desires of the people we support. We deeply appreciate the Slomo and Cindy Silvian Foundation for their grant of grant of $10,000 in support of the ComeUnity recreation program in offering healthy physical activity for shared experiences and self-esteem. This grant will assist with the development of the fair Winds Yacht Club, a yachting club to educate and create experiences with the ocean/bay and local marine life.
The growth of Camp Loyaltown’s sensory garden, Myra and Eugene Gamell Nature Play Garden, continues. The garden offers campers a variety of opportunities for campers with developmental disabilities to experience the beauty of nature and greater wellness, through landscaping that engages all five sense. It has been a labor of love for the Gamell family; landscape architect, Ashley Gamell, graciously shared her expertise and vision for new ways to experience the world.
