Syosset Residents Play Ball!
Jamie and Lizzie cheer on the Ducks and the Mets!
Jamie Allen and Lizzie Grogan, avid baseball fans, traveled from their home in Syosset to attend the Long Island Ducks and New York Mets games in late April.
Lizzie played baseball in high school, and Jamie used to watch baseball with her grandfather. They had a great time watching the game, enjoying the music, and cheering and chanting with the energetic crowds.
The Long Island Ducks versus Lancaster Stormers game in Central Islip began with fireworks show. The team’s mascot, Quacker Jack, visited Lizzie, Jamie, and Syosset House Assistant Manager Pamela Iliou. Quacker Jack gave them a high five and stopped for a quick photo opportunity.
Once again, the trio headed to the “Old Ball Game” in Queens at Citi Field. This time, the New York Mets were playing the Chicago Cubs.
House Manager Donna Grant and Assistant Manager Pamela worked together to get Jamie and Lizzie to the games because it keeps them involved with baseball, an important sport for both.
Jamie and Lizzie had so much fun they’d like to see another game this spring or summer.
