Bingo FUN-Raiser for the AHRC Foundation Walk

People supported by Citizens at the AHRC Foundation Walk Bingo Fundraiser.Michelle Rudoff, a Quality Assurance Trainer for Citizens Options Unlimited and Camp Loyaltown Camper, has been a passionate fundraiser for the AHRC Foundation Walk for many years. Each year, she brings her enthusiasm and leadership to the event, often managing the Advocacy Tent.

Michelle’s favorite part of the walk is reconnecting with people she doesn’t always get to see, creating a sense of community and camaraderie.

Michelle’s dedication to the walk and her ability to inspire support for her team, the Plainview Powerhouse, as well as her other self-advocacy initiatives, earned her the title of Grand Marshal for this year’s walk.

“It was a great honor,” Michelle said.

So far, Michelle has already surpassed her fundraising goal of $2,000, currently standing at $2,120. Every dollar, Michelle said, will help ensure that the people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have the services they need to live the lives they choose.

Earlier this month, Michelle hosted a Bingo Night at the Brookville Mansion to raise more money for her fundraising campaign. She invited people who receive residential support services and people involved with the Citizens Options Unlimited councils. The Brookville Mansion ballroom was full of people who love to play bingo. With a $10 entry fee, the bingo event raised over $390 for Michelle’s walk fundraiser. Michelle and her friend Coleen Mackin, a fellow QA Trainer, called the bingo numbers.

Everyone had a fantastic time at Bingo Night, enjoying an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and a sense of community as they came together to support a great cause. Patrick Black, Randy Cosby, and Frank Billadello, roommates at the Ontario Avenue residence in Plainview, enjoyed an evening of laughter and friendship. They looked forward to taking home their prizes, including a puzzle set.

Among the bingo contestants were also friends Noah Probert and April Kloepfer, who both attend Camp Loyaltown every year.

Thank you, Michelle, for organizing this fantastic event! It was an opportunity to raise money and a great way to gather friends for a night of fun. We are glad everyone had a good time!
