NDEAM: Peter Hadfield is Always Lending a Helping Hand at the Plainview Office or Camp Loyaltown
Every day at Citizens Options Unlimited’s offices in Plainview, you’ll find Peter Hadfield, a dedicated employee of 24 years and Camp Loyaltown camper, hard at work.
Peter starts each day with a smile, greeting co-workers as he moves through the office. Peter’s presence is a constant source of positivity, and his efforts play a vital role in ensuring the office runs smoothly. Known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature, Peter exemplifies the kind of supportive and inclusive environment of Citizens Options Unlimited.
“Peter is always positive and friendly,” said Sallyanne Burgess, Vice President of Operations at Citizens Options Unlimited. “Everyone enjoys talking to Peter when they see him around the Plainview office. He’s always stocking the supply closets so that we can do our jobs efficiently. He truly is a valued member of our team.”
Working Monday to Friday, Peter receives deliveries and stocks the supply closets.
“I know what to do,” Peter said when asked about a typical day. “I must put stuff away and make sure nobody trips over the deliveries. Then I try to clean the path, so they don’t trip.”
In addition to stocking, Peter monitors the garbage cans to ensure they don’t get too full.
Working in the office for two decades, Peter has built a solid and friendly rapport with his coworkers.
“If they need anything, they page me,” Peter said. “They’ll page me, say they need supplies, and ask me to check if we have anything in the back.”
After work, Peter likes to go for a walk and meet up with friends.
Peter also enjoys spending time at Camp Loyaltown in Hunter, NY, where he can be found getting on stage as part of performing arts or enjoying arts and crafts, like ceramics.
Up at Hunter, Peter also lends a helping hand in the dining hall.
“Peter’s dedication to providing excellent service and his cheerful demeanor uplifts everyone around him,” said Tevin Gilfillian, Assistant Director of Camp Loyaltown. “Peter consistently goes above and beyond so all our campers and staff feel welcomed and valued.
